Working with embroidery transfers really opens up the artist’s eye to designs that weren’t originally intended for that purpose. Suddenly any pen and ink drawing has the potential for embroidery! Such is the case with the skeleton keys here. This was adapted from a line drawing and apparently these are keys to the Treasury.
So, if you are the treasurer in your household then you might embroider this design for yourself or if your significant other holds the purse strings then you could whip this up for them. Just a little reminder to keep spending under control in these hard times!
This is my first attempt at adapting a line drawing using a mechanical pencil. The pencil doesn’t provide a smooth enough line at higher resolutions so next time I’ll try using a Sharpie and see how that works.

I was looking for rose designs, but the keys are wonderful and the basket of roses is exactly what I was looking for,…I just didn’t know it, until I saw it!!!
